Remote Control was set up in 2001 by Harvey Saward and Steve Cross. The company provides publicity, label management, distribution and marketing services to international and local artists and labels.
International
Remote Control’s current roster of international artists includes Adele, Queens Of The Stone Age, Radiohead, The xx, FKA Twigs, Jungle, Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, The National, Purity Ring and many other incredible artists.
Remote Control represents the Beggars Group in Australia and New Zealand, including 4AD, Matador Records, Rough Trade, True Panther, XL Recordings & Young Turks.
In 2015, Remote Control partnered with Omnian Music Group and now represents their roster of labels in Australia and New Zealand including 2MR, Captured Tracks, Honor Press, Manufactured Recordings, Sinderlyn and Squirrel Thing.
Dot Dash Recordings
In 2004 we established the Dot Dash record label, exclusively for Australian acts. The current Dot Dash roster includes Client Liaison, Methyl Ethel, Pearls, Teeth & Tongue, Gabriella Cohen, friendships, Milwaukee Banks, Sui Zhen, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Jeremy Neale and Velociraptor.
Australian & New Zealand
Remote Control also works in partnership with a number of independent Australian and New Zealand labels including Milk!, Broken Stone, Flightless and Barely Dressed, providing support to such artists as Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Babe Rainbow and Banoffee.
Recon Music, Publicity Services
In 2013, Remote Control opened the doors of its new publicity & promotions department via Recon Music, an established, boutique PR agency specialising in strategic national media campaigns.
Recon’s list of past & present clients including Face The Music, Sharon Van Etten, Ty Segall, Josh Pyke, The Clean, Elizabeth Rose, Allday, DZ Deathrays, Say Lou Lou, Loon Lake, Sally Seltmann, Sugar Mountain Festival, Saskwatch and Philadelphia Grand Jury.
